HIGH-LEVEL DEBATE: Land Degradation, Climate Change and Migration: Challenges for the EU and Africa

On 28 June 2016 a high-level debate on land degradation, climate change and migration with a focus on West Africa, hosted by Giovanni La Via, Chair of the Committee on Environment, took place at the European Parliament. Amongst others, Mrs. Barbut, Executive Secretary of the UNCCD, H.E. Mr. Hemou, Ambassador of ECOWAS to the EU, and Mr. Calleja Crespo, Director-General of DG ENV, gave insights into the current policy field and upcoming challenges.
